In most cases, the longer you have had insurance with the same agent, the less likely you are to visit frequently or to know the answers to these questions until you have an accident. I encourage you to make certain you know the answers BEFORE you are surprised once an accident has already occurred.
1. If I cause a wreck, what is my collision deductible? (How much $ do I pay before the insurance kicks in)
2. If a rock hits my windshield and cracks the glass, do I have to pay anything?
3. Do I have coverage if my car is stolen? How much would I have to pay?
4. How does it work if my car is hit in the parking lot at work while it is parked?
5. Do I have any coverage for medical bills if I am injured in an accident?
6. If the other driver who causes an accident has no insurance, do I have coverage for that? Is there a deductible?
7. If my car is damaged and in the body shop, who pays for the rental car?
8. Am I receiving all of the discounts I am eligible for?
This doesn’t address all of the potential questions, but it will get you off to a good start and it will be a reason to call your agent!
